Network Services
Proximity's network connects almost 200 satellites in three different levels of orbit, up to 35,000km from the earth's surface. And down here, our network spans from pole to pole across some of the most remote corners of the planet with a combination of wire-line, radio, and cellular transmission.
All of these distant paths are brought together at our state of the art switching site in Central London, where we join our clients through more traditional communication standards: TDM E1/T1 and almost any VoIP protocol. Proximity runs four redundant national and international tier one interconnects and a further four 100mb data peering connections.
Irrespective of transmission type, our central rating and routing engines will receive the termination request, analyse the satellite service that hosts the end unit, find where in the world it is currently situated and instantly direct that call to the terminal via the most appropriate regional Earth Station.
Calling billion dollar satellite constellations such as Iridium, Inmarsat, Thuraya, and Globalstar will never be cheap. Proximity works relentlessly on network efficiencies at levels throughout the industry to minimise call charges to remote workers.
